Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: Tale of the Tape

Pacquiao is going to attempt to kill Marquez, and it should be fun to watch his aggressive style against Marquez counter-punching methods.

Pacquiao is standing at 5’6.5" with a 67-inch reach, and he should weigh in anywhere between the welterweight mandated 140-147 pounds for the fight.

Marquez is nearly equal, standing in at 5’7” with a 67-inch reach as well, and he will weigh close to 145 pounds on Nov. 12 as well.

Pacquiao might have the mental edge on Marquez, as he really is upset with the man and is training extremely hard to finish him off and shut him up.

Emmanuel 'Manny' Dapidran Pacquiao, PLH (English pronunciation: /ˈpæki.aʊ/ PAK-ee-ow; Tagalog: [pɐkˈjaʊ]; born December 17, 1978) is a Filipino professional boxer and politician. He is the first eight-division world champion; having won six world titles, as well as the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes. He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). He is also a three-time The Ring and BWAA "Fighter of the Year", winning the award in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Currently, Pacquiao is the WBO Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion). He is also currently rated as the "number one" pound-for-pound best boxer in the world by most sporting news and boxing websites, including The Ring, BoxRec.com, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC Sports, Yahoo! Sports, Sporting Life and About.com.

Juan Manuel Márquez Méndez (born August 23, 1973 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal Mexico), is a Mexican professional boxer. He is the fourth Mexican-born boxer to become a three-division world champion, where he won eight world titles in three different boxing weight classes.

Currently, Marquez is the WBA Super, WBO and The Ring Lightweight World Champion. Ring Magazine currently rates Márquez as the number five pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

Undercards Details

Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Joel Casamayor

This is an interesting fight between an undefeated 28-year-old in Bradley Jr. versus a 40-year-old brawler in Casamayor on a tailspin out of boxing.
I predict Bradley wins this and improves his record to a perfect 28-0.
He may be the next fighter to go against Pacquiao if Floyd Mayweather doesn’t man up.

Mike Alvarado vs. Breidis Prescott

Alvarado is undefeated at 31 years old and is going against Prescott, who is out for revenge for his last fight in which he lost.

Both of these guys go for the knockout, and we will see some hard punches thrown all night long. I think Alvarado edges Prescott in the end.

Luis Cruz vs. Juan Carlos Burgos

These junior lightweights are both solid fighters, and Burgos has the only loss between the two.

Both go for the knockout as well, and it should be great to watch.

Ex-boxer? Bullshit! Going to the boxing gym does not make you a boxer nor sleeping in the pigpen makes you a pig. I guess you are a lousy boxer, asshole! Why do you hide in anonymity?

If you are really that intelligent, why you know little shit about English grammar?

If there is a big difference in weight, why still fight? Because of money?

Please die Asshole!

If you want to fight with me, come here in the Philippines and I will beat you to pulp.

Homie?

Homie or homey is a slang term in urban culture whose origins etymologists generally trace to African American language from the late 19th century. This was a time when many African Americans were migrating to cities in larger numbers, and "homeboy" meant a male friend from back home. It was eventually shortened to "homie". The word is also a contraction of Mexican slang words "homeboy" or "homebuddies" which became prevalent among some of the youth in Latino and chicano communities in the United States, starting in the late 1960s and continuing up to the present. Since the 1980s, the word has been particularly prevalent in hip hop subculture. Homie was also commonly associated with gangs, gang symbols, and rebellious youth.

In 1992, A Lighter Shade of Brown, a Latino rap hip hop group, released the recording "Homies" on their Hip Hop Locos album, which describes what a homie is in the Latino community. The status of "homie" is similar to "my best friend" or "someone I can trust".

In the hip-hop subculture the homeboy image is important for artists and audiences. The need to appear "hip" and "fresh" with their attitudes, clothing, and jewelry is an important aspect. The inspiration for this homeboy image can be traced to Malcolm X, who also rebelled against a tradition of being perceived as ineffectual. It has been argued that hip-hop has redefined the homeboy by providing him with functions that contradict society's view of him. Manthia Diawara, author of "Homeboy Cosmopolitan", writes, "Hip-hop culture gives aesthetic pleasure through ironic and parodic play with mainstream images of black people". Diawara argues that hip-hop permits the creation of a new image of black cultures, because it sharply turns against preconceived notions of African-American society and allows for the creation of a new image of black Americans. This image of staying hip is always evolving with new dress styles and sayings. The referenced website gives ten ways to stay hip every week, they change drastically week to week.

In recent times, on August 14, 2009, an 11 year old TV reporter, Damon Weaver, from South Florida interviewed President Barack Obama and declared that the President was now his "homeboy". Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homie
